"May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV)

Day by Day

"The faithful love of the LORD never ends!  His mercies never cease.  Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning."  Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT)

Dear one, I pray that you feel God's faithful, unfailing love this morning.  It is everlasting.  His mercies are new for you this morning...every morning.  They never cease!  Aaaah, what a precious thought.  You can begin this new day afresh, wrapped in His love, held in His arms, sheltered by His mercies.

Each day we have the privilege of starting anew.  We can leave those old failures, struggles, and fears behind.  Take a step toward a new beginning, remembering that we must look toward and cling to the Rock of Ages...the One Who is faithful to a thousand generations...the One who goes before us and behind us...our Deliverer...the Perfecter of our faith.

Like the manna provided daily...just what the Israelites needed for that day...are God's mercies and His provision for us.  As the wonderful hymn reminds us, "Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with thee;  Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;  As thou hast been thou forever wilt be....Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;  Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!  Great is thy faithfulness!  Great is thy faithfulness!  Morning by morning new mercies I see;  All I have needed thy hand hath provided;  Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"

Lord, thank Your mercies, blessings, and faithfulness.  Thank You for daily provision.  Thank You for pardon, peace, and presence.  Thank You for strength for today...and bright hope for tomorrow.  You are great...and greatly to be praised!

  1. Thanks for reminding me of His faithfulness. That is one of my favorite hymns, I sing it all the time!

  2. Ah yes, indeed - Our God is faithful - always...yesterday, today and tomorrow - why oh why do we ever allow the enemy entry into our thought-life by injecting 'doubt'--- What freedom there is in accepting the fact that God IS faithful in EVERYTHING -- though this is hard to acknowledge sometimes in our human-ness.....thank you for this wonderful reminder that is so very timely -- God has been speaking this over me recently!
